Open Day at Palais des Nations attended by Permanent Mission

The Permanent Mission of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the UN Office and other International Organizations at Geneva attended the “Open Day” held in the UN Office at Geneva – Palais des Nations. The aim of the event was to inform the Swiss public on the activities of UN and its Office at Geneva, as well as specialized agencies of UN and member states. Along with our country, Germany, Great Britain, Italy, Switzerland, US, Hungary, Romania, Kazakistan, Nepal, Botswana and China took place in the event.

The exhibition attended up to ten thousand people, and the stand exhibition containing materials and data on national culture, art and cousine of Azerbaijan was organized, and books and magazines, as well as other materials on tourism potential, culture and art of our country were demonstrated and distributed among the guests.

During the event the exhibition stand of our country was visited by the Director General of the UN Office at Geneva Mr. Kasım-Jomart Tokayev and a high quality book “Azerbaijani Carpets. Iravan Group” was presented to him by the Permanent Mission.

“Open Day” in the UN Office at Geneva is organized once every two years. The first such event was held in 2010.
