Delegation of the Parliament of Azerbaijan participated in the 139th Assembly of the IPU in Geneva

Delegation of the Parliament of the Republic of Azerbaijan led by Mr. Valeh Alesgerov, Deputy Speaker of the Parliament, participated in the 139th Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) held in Geneva on 15-18 October 2018. The main theme of the Assembly was "Technology change and the role of parliaments in promoting peace and development in the innovation era".

The delegation hold several bilateral meetings. Deputy Chairman Valeh Alasgarov met with Martin Chungong, IPU Secretary General. The sides discussed the prospects of coorporation between the Parliament of Azerbaijan and IPU.

The delegation also paticipated in The Forum of Young Parliamentarians organized within the Assembly. Azerbaijan will host the 5th Global Forum of Young Parliamentarians in Baku on 14-15 December 2018.
