Azerbaijan participated at the UN Annual Bazaar and financially contributed to the charity fund for children

The Permanent Mission of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the United Nations Office and other international organizations in Geneva participated at the Annual Bazaar organized by the United Nations Office at Geneva on 18 November 2014.

The objective of Annual Bazaar traditionally hosted every year at the United Nations Office at Geneva – Palais des Nations is to promote the art, culture, cuisine and traditions of different countries, making contribution to the charity foundation established to help children living in different parts of the world.

The current year’s Annual Bazaar was organized under the motto of “United for Children”. The event was attended by the Acting Director-General of the United Nations Office at Geneva, Mr. Michael Moller, the Permanent Representatives, the administration of Canton and City of Geneva, diplomats, representatives of international organizations in Geneva and other guests.

Items about our national culture, tangible and intangible cultural heritage, art and traditions were exhibited, as well as books, journals and maps concerning the tourism potential, culture, art and cuisine of Azerbaijan were handed out to the participants at the Annual Bazaar, traditionally attended by the Permanent Mission. Information on the education programs of ADA University was also presented to the participants of event. The Acting Director-General of the United Nations Office at Geneva, Mr. Michael Moller paid a visit to the national stand organized by the Permanent Mission of Azerbaijan and highly appreciated the items exhibited therein.

At the end of the event the financial contribution on behalf of the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan was transferred to the relevant charity fund of the United Nations. The financial assets will be spent for the implementation of various projects in favour of disadvantageous children in different parts of the world. 

The next UN Annual Bazaar is planned to be held in November 2015.
